Vgo Robotic Telepresence – see robot run….

vgo Vgo Robotic Telepresence see robot run....

Vgo is a mobile robot with telepresence, which means it rolls around on wheels and has a webcam and LCD screen attached so you can view and chat to people at remote locations. You could call it video-conferencing a la Segway. Or you could just call it creepy.

Anyhoo, it looks like this sort of product is going to get fashionable quickly, probably because there’s an insanely high profit margin lurking in the thing. For example, this product costs around $6000.00.

The rival Anybot costs a whopping $15,000.00, but it does have a very nice line in patter, if this video is anything to go by.

If all that is too rich for your blood, how about building your own video chat robot for a mere $500? Now that’s more like it.

Whichever way you go, watch out for those stairs OK?

the great thing about this device is when you get fed up you can take a chain saw to it or toss it out a window and no one gets hurt.
