WattsClever Alkaline Battery Charger – charge up your Duracell batteries and get more juice for your money

Wattscleverbatterycharger2

The WattsClever Alkaline Battery Charger is designed to charge up ordinary household batteries, like those dud Duracells you’ve got in the kitchen drawer. It manages to do this by using a microprocessor to minutely control the trickle charge so the batteries don’t overheat and die.

Apparently you can recharge batteries up to 20 times, although their capacity will diminish each time you do. Not cheap at $50.95/£31.97, but could be worth it if you’re forever throwing away dud toy batteries.

If your normal alkaline batteries aren’t completely dead, they really CAN be recharged with the WattsClever Alkaline Battery Charger. In fact, you can recharge your AA or AAA alkaline batteries 10-20 times (depending on their quality and age). And you can also recharge Ni-Cd or Ni-MH batteries. Just imagine how much money you’ll save on batteries?!

  • So hang on a minute…
HOW long have these batteries been around and how many have been thrown into landfill in that time? and only NOW they bring out a product that can recharge them and increase their longevity by 10!!?
FFS. Stop the planet I want to get off.

  • You're so right Mike. But what a genius that invented this product! Kudos to that guy.

  • This is unfortunately nothing new Mike, I built one of these when I was a kid, about 20 years ago I guess, the specification was in an electronics magazine, and stated that people in far more advanced countries had been doing this for years, but of course, no battery manufacturer would tell you about it if you asked them. Here is some info about it from the 50s using "Periodic current reversal"
