I love LED lights, but most times they are so bright I can hardly stand to look at them. There have been a lot of watches coming out lately with LED lights, but they illuminate so well it can almost be hard to read sometimes. Not to mention they often look a little silly. That’s why I was glad to see the Tokyoflash Kisai RPM Acetate Watch that takes care of all of my concerns.
This watch is built out of a very strong, glossy material called acetate, which houses a series of blue LED lights that are shielded behind some smoked glass. It looks very minimalistic with an empty watch face when it’s not lit up, and is reminiscent of the movie Tron. Every part of this wrist enhancement device has been hand cut, machined, and polished for your viewing pleasure. Unlike most watches, this uses a USB cable to charge its battery, and takes about 3.5 hours. This will last you about a month and is much more convenient than having to throw regular batteries away on a more constant basis. This special battery is good for 300 charges, so it should last about 25 years.
It’s a little costly at $159.99, but that’s pretty good to some other watches out there that are in the thousands. To tell time, the inner ring represent the hours, while the outer ring represents the minutes in five minute increments. The individual minutes are displayed with the use of the smaller LEDs on the outer ring at the top.
