Generate a random password on your Android phone using PicshaPass

Here’s a fun little fact for you, computers can’t actually generate a completely random number on their own. This is simply the nature of computers, which by design, are meant to be predictable in their actions. Now you may say that you’ve seen random number or password generators out there, but even these are not truly random. They rely on a set of programming that only appears random. Were you to compare its output to something that is completely random, such as the roll of a dice, then you should be able to easily see the difference.

So what do you do when you want to generate something like a password at random on your computer or phone? Well if you want to do this on your Android phone, you can use PicshaPass. This piece of software lets you choose things such as the length of your password and what type of characters you want to use. Then, it uses a picture you have taken with your phone’s camera to generate a SHA-256 hash, which is then converted into standard characters. Sure, it’s a complex way to generate a password, but that makes it all the more interesting.
