Keeping your smartphone alive throughout the day can be a challenging task. Some phones perform better than others, plus your usage greatly affects the amount of time you can go between charges. Well, if your Android phone is only barely making it through the day before dying on you, you might check out a useful piece of software called JuiceDefender.
This app was designed with the sole purpose of extending your device’s battery life for as long as possible. Obviously it won’t increase the capacity of your battery, so instead, it turns off various functions that you aren’t using. For instance, if you aren’t actually connected to a WiFi network, JuiceDefender will disable WiFi on the phone, and only kick it back on every 15 minutes to see if there is a valid signal, and then turn it back off again if there isn’t. There are a lot of different settings for you to work with, and there is a great guide on setting up the software over at MakeUseOf. It’s definitely worth checking out.
