No one likes to think about the possibility of having their home broken into. Not only could you lose some of your valuables, but harm may come to you and your loved ones. So how to you ensure that no one will try to break in? Short of posting guards and having a security gate around your house, you can’t guarantee that someone won’t try. However, you can catch them off-guard and make them turn tail before they touch a single valuable.

This Swann Wireless Doormat Alarm is a clever device that will warn you if anyone has entered your home after you’ve gone to bed. The pad is pressure-sensitive, and will sound a bell when it has been stepped on. The great thing is that it also serves as a doorbell for your home during the day. Just slide it outside, and when someone steps up to the door, you will be notified. The bell itself has three different chimes, and can be made as loud as 120db. For $27, I’d say that this gadget is more than useful enough for the money.
