Update your old Apple M0110 keyboard to work with modern computers

My favorite type of keyboard is one that uses mechanical switches. A lot of people have no idea that there are different types of keyboards. If you are one of those people, then if you can ever remember using a keyboard that was exceptionally loud, then that was undoubtedly a mechanical keyboard. A lot of people (myself included) also believe that they are just more comfortable to use. You don’t find a lot of them these days (though there are companies that make them, if you’re willing to pay around $100 or so for one), because they are more expensive than keyboards using membrane or scissor-switches.

There was a long period where mechanical keyboards were all that you’d find. Unfortunately some of the really old ones won’t work with today’s equipment. However, one person who loved his old Apple M0110 keyboard decided to update it to work with his current computer. The best part is that he documented the entire process, so that you can do the same thing, should you choose. I’m not sure I have the patience to retrofit a classic like that, but you have to admit that it is rather stylish.
