Have you ever tried starting a fire when you have no kindling to get it going? It can be pretty hard, since you need small items to burn for a bit before the logs will ever catch on fire. You can use a lot of things to substitute the kindling, such as paper or cloth. However, I bet you never thought to use potato chips.

Strange as it would seem, chips make perfect fire starters. Just open a bag, pour a handful under the bigger wood that you want to burn, and light. The best part? You get to eat the rest of the bag. Next time you’re out camping, you can try this trick to impress your friends, or simply to get out of collecting kindling.
