When I was younger, I always wondered why I couldn’t simply stick a monitor onto a standard overhead projector to see my games on a giant screen. Now that I know considerably more about how these sorts of things work, I realize exactly why this isn’t possible. And thanks to this Instructables guide, I know that if you do a little bit of work, it actually is possible.
No, you aren’t going to just toss your monitor onto the projector, as it wouldn’t be bright enough to be effective. But what if you increased the brightness of the backlight? That’s exactly what you’ll be doing. In fact, you’ll be using the super bright light that’s already used with the projector. All you need to do is build a new housing for the monitor, which will include a couple of fans to keep it all cool. After an hour or so of work, you should have a giant display that looks decent, and doesn’t break the bank.
