Hide a GPS in a hollowed-out PS3 to find your stolen items

There’s nothing worse than coming home one day, only to find that the majority of your valuables are missing. First, you’re hit with feelings of disbelief, then anger at those who now have your possessions. Of course, the most important thing now is getting your items back. But how are you going to find them? One method is to trick them into stealing a GPS tracking device.

How in the world are you going to make sure that a thief grabs your secret tracking device? That’s easy, you just disguise it as a high-ticket piece of electronics. One hacker decided to use the shell of a PS3 that he purchased online, then rigged up a GPS inside of it. The GPS uses an accelerometer to detect whether or not it has been moved. If it has, then the next time the unit is plugged in, it will send out a text with GPS information. You can also send a message to the device at any time, and it will respond back with the current location. This is definitely one of the more clever ways to keep track of your belongings.
