Optrix HD turns your iPhone into a POV camera

If you ski, snowboard, skateboard or bike, you might find it interesting to record your sweet tricks from a first-person view. This generally involves finding a special camera that mounts to a helmet, which may or may not take good video. Why not just use your iPhone? After all, it does shoot at 1080p, so you know the quality is going to be decent. Now obviously you don’t want to just tape your phone to a helmet (although if you’re really pressed for time and cash, I suppose you could. Just don’t wreck.). So what you need is one of these Optrix HD Sports Cases.

This special case uses hard plastic to keep your precious phone safe from harm, and from the elements. The screen is still visible and accessible, thanks to a special touchscreen membrane. This means that depending on where it’s mounted, you can actually see exactly what is being recorded, unlike most POV cameras. You’ll also find both curved and flat mounts, which will allow you to keep your phone attached to almost any surface. At $80, this is an expensive case, but it beats buying a special camera with questionable quality.
