Flagfox lets you quickly look up a websites physical location, and more

Have you ever been browsing a site and wondered exactly where the information was coming from? No, I don’t mean where the writer found the story, or even where the company that owns the site is located. Rather, have you been curious as to where the server itself was sitting? With Flagfox, you won’t have to wonder any longer.

This Firefox extension will display a small flag of the country where the server hosting the website resides. You can then click on the flag to pull up a map of not only the country, but the city where the server is located. You’ll also get information such as the local time, if you’re interested. Other features include being able to quickly perform WHOIS lookups, url shortening, traceroutes and more. If you’re a Firefox user, there’s plenty here that will come in handy.
