When you’re traveling in a large city, sometimes the best way to get around is to call a cab. It’s nice to know that cabs are regulated by a governing body, as this means that fares are kept (somewhat) reasonable, and that your driver will hopefully drive safely and treat you right. However, you still get bad drivers from time to time. But when you’re busy traveling and rushing to get somewhere, do you really have time to call up and report them? Now you don’t even have to call.
Thanks to the ReportATaxi app, you now only need to whip out your phone and enter the operating number of the taxi. With a few taps, you can let the New York Taxi and Limousine Commission know exactly what your driver was doing. Alternatively, you can use the same app to let the commission know that your driver provided excellent service. Currently, this app only works for New York City, and is only available on the iPhone. However Blackberry and Android versions are currently in the works.
