Magnetic Soap Holder

Gel soaps are great and all, but once you switch to bar soap, it’s hard to ever go back. They just lather so nicely, and a lot of them have that organic aspect to them, which makes them more eco-friendly. However, you need to keep it contained so it doesn’t slide all over the place, and if water gets in with the soap, it becomes a soupy mess. There are many different alternatives to solve this problem, but this is definitely the first solution I’ve seen that uses magnets.

It’s called the Magnetic Soap Holder, and it uses a two piece system that will let you suspend your soap in midair. It uses a tiny disk that you insert into your soap, and once the magnets align, that bar isn’t going anywhere. This way your soap will stay dry so that it doesn’t become a mushy pile of hygienic goop. It will cost you only $6, so it’s not exactly a big investment.

Try google. This trick is as old as the hills and then some.
Nothing wrong with it – it works fine – but new, it ain't.

  • That's funny.. these were around in the 70's. Every bathroom had them. You had to press a bottlecap style disk into your favourite bar of whale fat. After a while the disk looks like it'd been up a whales (you know what).

  • As other people have said, I remember these from when I was young, pushed into the back of a bar of Imperial Leather soap, so you ended up with the metal disc & the label.

Still wonder how that label stayed on right to the end.
