When it comes to your smartphone, the last thing you generally want to do is drop or throw it. Sure, with the right case, you can be pretty confident that it will come through the event unscathed, but rarely does one want to put this sort of thing to the test. So with that in mind, would you consider putting your phone in a case that’s meant to be dropped, thrown, and maybe even kicked?

A new case called TheO Smart Ball is a soft foam ball with a hole cut out for a phone. With the right app installed on either your iOS or Android device, it can be turned into a bowling ball, hot potato, Magic 8 Ball, or plenty of other things. There are already three different apps developed for the ball, with more in the works. No word on when this will be available, though we should probably expect it a little later this year.
