Would you walk to the kitchen to shut off your alarm?

It’s amazing how many different methods that we have developed to get ourselves out of bed in the morning. There is an entire industry that thrives off of annoying people so much that they have to drag themselves out from under their warm blankets each morning. While I’ve seen plenty, this Ramos is the first that an actually make you walk clear across the house to shut it off.

The Ramos comes in two parts. First, there is the beautiful clock itself, made from teak, and feature Nixie tubes that display the digits. The other section is a wireless number pad, that you can stick anywhere in the house. Once the alarm goes off in the morning, you’ll have to walk to wherever the pad is, and enter a special code. The designer even went to far as to include a backup battery, in case you were thinking of simply pulling the plug. The Nixie version of the Ramos will set you back $350, while an LED version will replace the expensive tubes with LEDs, bringing the price down to $150.

  • Instead of spending nearly $400.00, on a "snazzy alarm clock", I preferably; "reset my snooze button" with a 30ounce police baton, I found at a garage sale for only $2.00!

  • Now THAT'S what I call inventive. :)

  • The kickstarter project raked in twice the target amount by 01 April 2012 and this week I actually received my alarm clock!
It is everything I had hoped it would be and more The guys have included so many options and details that I had never even thought of and it does exactly what it is supposed to do.

  • The only thing I find missing on the RAMOS after a few months use is the possibility to switch it back on from the deactivation panel.
My other half, for whom I bought this with her prior approval, will actually get up and traipse all the way to the kitchen to switch off the alarm and then go back to bed and stay there for hours!
