Social Photos lets you migrate photos or albums between Facebook, Flickr and Google+ instantly

Socialphotos

Aargh photos, they’re everywhere. Who would have thought at the dawn of the digital camera era that we’d be swamped by a literal deluge of images sitting on hard drives across the globe. I’ve got 16,000 photos which have accumulated over the years and my collection is probably minute compared to some of yours. Where did they all come from? Anyway, the number may be daunting but organising them is an absolute nightmare, especially if like me you’ve got some stored locally on Picassa, some on Flickr, some on Google+ etc etc. Well now help is at hand.

Social Photos is a quick and dirty photo migration service which lets you move albums and images between Facebook, Flickr and Google+ without breaking sweat. It uses a bunch of cool backend technology (gotta love that HTML5 stuff), but basically you sign in to the services you wish to migrate between, and then simply drag the album or image from one of the boxes to the other. Job done. It’s fast, clean, incredibly easy to do and it works quickly.

The service doesn’t touch or remember your login details (it’s using OAuth to stay hands-off your data), but if you’re worried you can always just go back into your accounts and revoke the permissions after you’ve finished the transfer. I love the simplicity of this and the fact that it’s a free service. Thanks Vignesh!
