Two years ago we really slated Mufin MusicFinder Base as a sleazy ‘piece of garbage’ for pretending to be freeware when in fact it was a 7 day time limited trial. Well they must have heard us, because they’re now back in the market with a completely re-branded, genuinely free music player product, with some free cloud storage thrown in.

OK, so there are a number of freeware players and storage offerings out there, but we like the long list of features they’re offering with Mufin Player (as it’s now called), and while the storage is not massive (we’re talking 2GB for free) it’s respectable. The player includes a CD ripper (what’s a CD, Ma?), MP3 file conversion, support for iTunes and OGG Vorbis and a host of other stuff. Pay an additional $29.99 for the full Pro version and you’ll get 25 GB of storage included.
