Having to tend to a yard is quite a bit of work. Mowing the lawn is a weekly occurrence, and more often than not, it’s something you don’t really have time or energy for. You’ve seen robots that can vacuum floors, or clean windows, but now it’s looking as though there will be a lawn mowing robot too.
There have been others like this on the market, but they aren’t very good at keeping track of where they have and haven’t been. Bosch is hoping to change all that with their Indego (yes, it’s in Swedish), which is an autonomous mower that keeps track of where it has been through checking its position in regards to its base. It can take on up to 1,000 square meters without any work from you during the process. There will be some wiring that you’ll have to lay down to tell this thing where to stop, but that is probably the extent of the labor you’ll have to provide for this machine. This hasn’t even officially hit the market yet, but will be available in 2013 for somewhere around $2,040.
