What is it about the past that fascinates us? Is it the fact that men all seemed to wear hats? Or the idea that life was simpler then, with no complicated taxes or television schedules? Whatever the reason, there’s no doubt that retro – or reproduction as it’s known in the trade – is something that will never go out of fashion.
This Paramount Eiffel Tower 1892 Telephone is a perfect demonstration of our love of old stuff. All that die-cast metalwork, rotary ding-dongs and clunky headpiece and yet still it has some mysterious allure. The delicious irony is that in the past, when these products were in proper use, people probably hated them because of their inefficiency and primitive technology. Now we love them. Anyhoo, the phone features a ‘felted’ handset cord, ringer volume adjust and…gasp…last number redial. Retro right? $59.59 to the gentleman in the green velvet top hat.
That's really an antique-looking telephone. A real collector's item!
