So apparently it’s no longer enough to have a top class security system installed in your premises, because the bad guys don’t care. Yeah really. They’ve all gone Rambo style and they’ll just break in and steal your stuff anyway, because that’s how it rolls. But the nice guys are fighting back, and they’ve just come up with an ingenious device to even the odds and help deter burglars with a simple trick.

The LaserScan Burglar Deterrent is not an alarm system at all, in fact it’s meant to work alongside conventional high security alarm systems. What the LaserScan does is provide a visual deterrent to thieves by projecting a red laser beam across the walls of your premises, like the kind of beams you see Tom Cruise evade in all those Mission Impossible movies.

The idea is the burglars will see the beam sweeping back and forth, and notice the scary looking ‘Satellite Tracking‘ sticker on the door and decide that there’s better options down the road. And apparently it works (see the customer testimonials in the video below). The system also incorporates a couple of official looking flashing LEDs and a warning beep signal to make the whole thing super security like.
