The LeapsterGS is a learning hand-held console for tots

It’s a little overwhelming how many different games and consoles there are out there now. If you’re a parent and don’t know much about video games, then you might be a bit apprehensive about what games you let your kids play. The safest route you can probably go is anything that has to do with Leapster, as they like to make sure they’re current enough to keep your little ones enticed.

The LeapsterGS is a hand-held device that will provide fast-action gameplay with lots of learning housed in a kid-proof plastic shell. It has motion-based games, a built-in camera, and a video recorder, so your kids won’t feel like they’re playing with an outdated piece of junk. The best part is that this thing only costs $70 (much cheaper than a PS3 of Xbox 360), with additional $5 downloads. If you’re wanting to purchase the physical game cartridges, you’ll be looking at an additional $25 a pop. Keep in mind though that this is aimed for a 4-9 age range, so don’t try and give this to a twelve year old unless you want to offend them.
