If you like to build and make things of all shapes and sizes, you’ve likely come across a situation that called for soldering. For those of you out there that have never done it before, this seems like a daunting task. They make is look all too easy in how-to videos, but where do you find your equipment, and what are the ins and outs of it all?
The Beginner Solder Tool Kit is a good place to start, and you may as well read this while you’re at it. This kit will have an iron, stand, sponge, diagonal cutters, long nosed pliers, and wire strippers. It all comes for the reasonable price of $15.99. This is a great place to start (you might want to spring for a better stand), but make sure you have some test projects to try things out first. Not everyone is going to have a good first experience with a hot iron. Once you get the hang of it though, things will be easy-peasy.
