Not a day passes without another online music service appearing on our screens. Where do they all come from, and more to the point, are there enough people or hours in the day for them all to get an audience? The strange thing is the fact that the newest ones are managing to deliver ever improving levels of cool, which the earlier generations couldn’t match. MySpace we’re looking at you.
Musikki is the latest in the genre, and it’s nice. Based of course on the video content already available on the mighty services like Vimeo , Vevo and YouTube, it nevertheless manages to wrap it all up in a very appealing skin which encourages the visitor to immerse themselves in their favorite artist’s work.

As well as a nicely written bio, and a selection of video tracks for instant sampling, there are also links to the artist Twitter stream and a very valuable Upcoming Shows widget, so you can find out where they’re playing next or near you. There’s also some mention of a Facebook social music player, which lets you create shared playlists. We’re sure it’s oodles of fun.
On balance we’d say that Musikki is worth adding to your list of music destinations. It may not be not amazingly outstanding, but it sure is pretty. And the world needs more pretty. We’re looking at you…oh we did that joke already.
