OK, this has gone far enough peeps. We’ve seen the parodies, the videos, the musicals (there’s a musical right?) and no doubt there’s an upcoming movie starring Zooey Deschanel and Henry Winkler, but a bacon cookbook? Really?

Fifty Shades of Bacon makes no pretence at haut cuisine either. We’re talking ‘how to boil an egg’ levels of artistry, wrapped up in a flavorful, benign and ever so safe for work format. Ketophiles, start your engines.

As one of the authors of this book, I can certainly take a hit for using parody (I thought of the name and just KNEW it had to be made… love it or not), but NOT FAIR AT ALL on the cooking. I think that Fig & Bacon Pop Tarts, Bacon Cheddar Scones, Bacon wrapped Asparagus with Creamy Gorgonzola Sauce, and Blue Cheese Stuffed Figs wrapped in Prosciutto might… just might… meet the level of pretentiousness needed to be "haut cuisine", but that is NOT the focus of the book. We have a bacon feta pizza that walks someone through making homemade pizza crust, a killer mac and cheese and a Bacon Cheddar Waffle sandwich that makes my mouth melt.

The focus of the book is not to be hoity toity, but it is about good food, good fun and a parody poke (that has been out for months) at the Fifty Shades series.

I DEMAND A RETRACTION….. or at least half a smile. :)

  I stand ashamed and chastened for not realizing the worth of this tome. However in my defense the Live View offers very few pages from which to make a decision. And the very first recipe I saw was How to Boil An Egg.

Nigel, it is all good! I never expected to write any sort of book, but this popped in my head and for better, or worse, it sort of just happened! I am a regular fella who likes to cook (far more than most) and likes pop culture, so this sort of landed on my lap. We made it happen and it has been fun!

I forget the name of the upcoming book, but did you know that there is a Fifty Shades of Fifty Shades book coming out soon. If I remember correctly, it has essays from various authors, parody authors and others discussing the 50 Shades phenomenon and several of the 50 shades parodies.

If anything, my opinion is that it makes a good conversation piece and gag gift for the meatatarians in your life.

  Cool. :) I'll take a look at the meta 50Shades book if I get a chance, but I have to admit I'm a bit shaded out at the moment. :) Especially since I never read the original. By the way how did you find the post so fast, got a Twitter tracker? :)
