Long ago, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, we had remotes that weren’t very complicated, and there were only a few channels to choose from on the tube. Nowadays, you have three remotes, hundreds of channels, and need to remember the combination of buttons to hit and numbers to push to watch a single show. While the chaos is only going to get worse from here, the remote can at least be simplified to control everything.
The Logitech Harmony Touch is a combination of a touchscreen smartphone, and a normal remote. The screen can display up to 50 icons that will immediately take you to your favorite stations. It has backlit buttons, an ergonomic design, and pairs with Skype if you should need to take a call at a moments notice. This $250 device comes with a recharging station, can be set up online, and can control up to 15 different devices. It looks to be quite useful, but would only be worth it to the avid couch potato.
