There are some things which are clearly sent to us by the Great Mechanic In The Sky. Things which are so gorgeously, obviously ‘right’, that their purpose is almost secondary. Such a tool is the Magnetic Magic Finger, an implement of such sublime design and intent that we’ll be reaching for the credit card just as soon as we finish working out how we can use the darn thing.
The blurb says it can be used to keep small screws and pins safe and close to hand, but surely there’s more to this utensil than that? Can’t we use it to retrieve lost keys from behind radiators, or to open door catches with two hands full of shopping? How about grabbing the salt shaker from across the table, or storing headphone wire while we’re listening to our music player?
Oh the ideas just keep on coming, but we can’t dawdle. This small disc magnet gizmo has captured our heart and so we must hurry and offer the $19.95 before it’s too late and inspiration dies.
