Everyone likes a singalong now and again, hence the popularity of karaoke bars. What more fun can you have than belting out your favorite tune to an appreciative and tone deaf audience? Of course we can’t all have the vocal talent of [put your fave singer here], but why should we give up? Instead a better idea might be to try and improve our ability and really wow the crowd.

Which is why the Sing Out Strong Karaoke freeware program could be useful. This little prog not only offers the traditional karaoke interface to let you sing along in your best voice, but it also comes with a set of tools to help you sing better and more in tune.

The program tracks your singing through the computer microphone and displays a continuous display of your pitch to show you where you’re…ahem…missing the note now and then. You can rewind and select passages to practice over and over if you need, and there’s a handy set of controls to change the pitch and tempo to suit your particular style.
