Dune II in your browser – classic game meets computer

Remember Dune? Based on the novel by Frank Herbert, Dune tells the epic story of a battle for resources by various dynasties across the galaxy. It was made into a lackluster movie and also spawned a short series of video games, which in fact led to the whole massive Real Time Strategy (RTS) genre which included later games like Command & Conquer.

Well it’s back, and now it’s available inside your web browser. In Dune II Online, you’ll encounter exotic civilizations and even more exotic graphics redolent of the pixelated past, but get past that and you’ll enjoy the challenge of keeping your family alive against all odds.

The new version seems to be completely faithful to the original, so if you remember spending too many late nights battling the House of Atreides, now’s your chance to do it again.
