Reading about swash-buckling adventures and unexpected journeys might make you interested in swordsmanship. If you happen to have a decorative sharp and pointy hanging around your house, then you’ve likely thought about trying to “do some moves”. However, if you tried any of those moves on pretty much anything, you’re probably going to have to pay for whatever damage you cause.
If you wanted to experiment with swordplay, but are afraid you might hurt someone, you might want to give the Rigid Foam Sparring Sword a go. It has a solid core wrapped in foam, so if you and a friend would like to duel, you won’t have to worry about any hospital trips afterwards. It will cost you about $20 for one of these, which is about the same price as if you wanted to start making these at home. However, if you start getting multiples for yourself and others, it might be better to make them yourself (PVC core, hard foam or soft foam, gorilla glue, and some sort of hilt).
