We all get a “to-go” beverage every now and then. It’s not something we really give much thought to, but there are a lot of materials that go into the cups, lids, and straws that house your beverage. If this factoid bothers you, then there’s a way that you can help lessen your contribution to a landfill.
It may be a tiny gesture, but these Paper Straws are both biodegradable and compostable. They have designs that were inspired by birch wood and bamboo, and are printed with food-safe, soy-based ink. In other words, it’s not going to make you sick or stain your lips. Paying $6 will get you a pack of 144 of them so you can always have one handy. This is a neat idea, and it’s not going to break the bank, but I would imagine the lifespan of these things in a liquid is not terribly long.
