D.E.M.O. – the first multiplayer HTML5 3rd person browser game demo, and the future of games?

The development team behind Playcanvas has been showing off their new HTML5 browser game tools, and one of the demos, fittingly entitled D.E.M.O. is pretty impressive. The demo features a multiplayer, 3rd person shooter all rendered inside the browser, and very smoothly playable as well.

The game looks amazing considering it’s all being done using Javascript and apparently it was completed in just 2 weeks, which bodes well for future HTML5 game development. Of course it helps if you’ve got access to top level designers and actually know what you’re doing before you start, but it’s definitely an interesting development in the game arena. More info here.
