Music is all around us, but it takes an individual to shape that sound into something that other people want to listen to. While people or groups like Stomp can use garbage cans and found objects to share their sounds, others may prefer more traditional instruments. If you like to play around with a keyboard, then the only thing you’ll need to worry about is being plugged in, but what happens when you don’t want to be in the same spot all the time?
Korg recently revealed the KROSS Keyboard, which is a super workstation that is both portable, and battery-powered. It has audio/MIDI recording capabilities, tons of sounds, and runs off of 6 AA batteries or an AC adapter. There are options for 61 or 88 fully-weighted keys, and the prices are $699 or $999 respectively. There are 134 effects, of which you can combine seven at a time. This won’t be available until August of this year, so you have a little time to save up if you’re interested.
