Many have tried to create true virtual reality before, but no one has quite gotten it ‘right’ yet. It’s always far too clunky or expensive to validate as a purchase. We saw the Occulus Rift a while back, and while it seems promising, that only takes care of the visual aspect.
The Omni is the cherry on top for a virtual experience. This is a combination of a platform, shoes, and belt that will allow you to run, jump, and jog your way through your favorite games. I would assume the platform would take a little getting used to (explained in the video below), but the belt will keep you in place. It’s smaller than a treadmill, and only costs around $429-539. Keep in mind this is just the physical aspect of the VR experience, but it is compatible with the Occulus Rift and Kinect. It has adjustable height for kids and adults, and can be broken down and stowed away when you’re not using it. This would be a great way to keep healthy if you love playing games.
