Look, you may think you’re fancy with your brand new tablet computer, but you’re way behind the times. Yeah really. Because just touching, swiping, browsing and clicking is so, like yesterday. Real tablet computer users now spend their time beaming as well. And we’re not talking the smiley version either.
This new U7 Projector Tablet is billed as the world’s first projector tablet, which means it comes with an integrated DLP projector for displaying your screen on any adjacent flat surface. The 7 inch device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, has a 1024×600 capacitive screen, 8 GB of internal memory, microSD up to 32GB, 2 mp camera, WiFi, Bluetooth and a dual core 1.2GHz processor. But it’s the projector you’re interested in, right?
Well the projector part features 854×480 resolution and 40 lumens, so you’re not going to use this in any brightly lit room, but it’s definitely good enough to work in a shaded environment, if the standard of other pico projectors is anything to go by. The blurb claims a projection time of up to 3 hours at 50 inches, but we’d be a little skeptical about that until we saw it in live action.
In the meantime you can rest assured that the tablet market has not stopped growing and will continue to deliver surprises even as it matures into a roaring commodity basket case.
