Head-Up Display – Keep your eyes on the road!

Head-Up Display
Few people still rely on paper maps to navigate on the road. The latest and greatest GPS or smartphone will do the trick, but it comes at a price. You have to pay attention to a tiny, bright screen which will momentarily pull your gaze from the road.

One possible solution for this is the Head-Up Display. This will project your travel information onto your windshield so you won’t have to focus in on a screen, and refocus on the road. It is said to work in direct sunlight and at night, so you shouldn’t have to worry about visibility. We’ve seen something similar to this in the past, and only a little has changed to make this better than the older version. That, and the display is primarily blue, which is far better for your eyes than red.

You’ll be looking at dropping $150 on this, and all you need to do is install the transparent film onto your windshield. The HUD will sit on your dash, and will pair with your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled device. While the transparency is nice, it would probably be better to just get a car mount for your phone if that’s what you use.

  • It’s not Minority Report, but not the worst implementation I’ve seen either. More of this please.
