When boiling pretty much anything on the stove, you have to be diligent in watching it to make sure it doesn’t spill over. Undoubtedly, it’s going to do so anyway, which will lead to an annoying cleanup later. While the wooden spoon trick does work quite well, it’s more of a deterrent than anything.
The Boil Over Safeguard is a silicone lid that will help prevent spillovers. This can withstand heat up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and will fit an opening of 6-10” in diameter. Whenever you’re done using it, toss it in the dishwasher to clean up.
You will want to be careful lifting the lid while it’s boiling, but you would hope most everyone knows that already. This will cost around $11, and would be awesome for containing grease splatters, cooking rice, or boiling potatoes. It could also be used in the microwave!
