Normally a new camera model launch wouldn’t rate too much more than an excited yawm from us at the Ferret, but we’re going to make an exception with the brand new GoPro product, simply because of the company’s new promotional video which comes with the announcement. Forget about cheesy windsailing, skateboard tricks and the like, they’ve got guys HUGGING LIONS. AND IT’S AWESOME, DUDE!

The GoPro Hero3+ Black Edition is the successor to the Hero3 product and it’s apparently the smallest and the lightest GoPro camera so far. Judging by the movie (below) it not only gives you the ability to scale impossible mountains, fly on the back of an eagle and motorbike across the top of the world, but you also get to hug a lion or two somewhere on an African plain. So we guess you’ll be OK with shots of Colin BMXing in your back yard.

This new camera features 12 megapixel resolution with 30fps burst video capabilities, comes with an 1180mAh battery and it’s Wi-Fi enabled so you can connect it to your smartphone via the free GoPro app to view shots and playback videos. You can also share your images or videos via Facebook, Instagram, email, etc. What else? Oh yes, it lets you hug lions, did we mention that?
