Fans of the Wii video game console were in mourning when they learned Nintendo was pulling the plug on production but those black armbands can finally be put away because it’s time to celebrate as an International visitor arrives on US soil.
Formerly exclusive to Canada, the Nintendo Wii Mini Makes Its Way to the US, which is sure to make Christmas shopping easier for a few people.
The affordable Wii Mini might upset a few fans of the full-sized console because a popular feature is missing: the Mini can’t connect to the Internet so the entire back catalog of games featured on the Virtual Console are gone with the wind. That’s not great news but the Mini does still offer the ability to play multi-player games; they just have to be played locally
Another thing about the Wii Mini that will make it a popular item for Christmas is the mini price tag that’s attached – just $99… and you get a copy of Mario Kart, too. All of a sudden, the lack of online functionality doesn’t look that bad, does it?
The Nintendo Wii Mini will be available November 17.
Still looks bad; why wouldn’t it have internet access?
