There’s no question that modern materials have revolutionized living spaces, but for the most part these advances have been fairly conventional in style. However one enterprising French designer has taken a whole new direction in terms of harmonious accommodation with his new bubble room idea.
Crystal Bubble products are manufactured from transparent plastics and are inflated via a silent electric air blower, which keeps it inflated at all times. The heating/cooling system can be powered by solar cells, methanol or earth/air heat exchangers and every bubble comes with a built in wooden floor.
There’s a range of products (transparent and semi-transparent) on offer, ranging from single rooms, double bubble ‘lodges’ and even a version which can sit in a tree for a truly eco-tastic experience. The inflation system avoids problems with condensation, dust or allergens and you control the interior temperature by using zipped openings.
The bubbles can hold different types of furniture according to needs, and you can obviously place them wherever you can find a flat surface, which can lead to some pretty amazing locations as you can tell from the photos. They’re even being used as private rooms during events by some enterprising people.
There’s not much information on pricing available on any of the websites, but it looks as though they start at around $11,000 and upwards depending on configuration. Love it!
