It’s really come to something when your humble wireless speaker contains more high tech than a computer from 10 years ago, but we seem to be at that point right now. Take this new Luxa2 GroovyW product for instance. It’s not just a standard speaker, oh no. Because that would be far too boring. Instead it comes with some little surprises.
For one thing it features the tap and connect simplicity of NFC tech. In practice you hold the phone up to the NFC point on the speaker and within 3 seconds or so it bleeps and lets you know you’re now connected wirelessly to the Bluetooth bit. Play your music and enjoy.
It’s also got an in-built mic so you can use it for hands free calls and stuff, at which point it will no doubt discreetly reduce the audio volume and leave the room quietly so as not to disturb your private conversation. Or something.
But the star of the show is undoubtedly the fact that it can also wirelessly charge your QI compatible handset, as well as offer up more conventional microUSB cable type charging from its internal 4000mAh power bank storage. Truly a versatile beast, we think you’ll agree.
The product comes in two parts, with the speaker offering up to 15 hours of 3Wx3W RMS output playing time, and up to 30 hours if you hook in the charging pad component.
