10 Totally Useless Websites

The Internet is a powerful resource; a seemingly endless treasure trove of knowledge that can inform you of news, provide directions, help find a date, give answers to homework assignments, and offer up information on almost any topic you can think of… and then there are websites like these. <image:shutterstock>

It turns out, that in addition to a whole lot of useful websites, the information superhighway is littered with almost as many sites that have no redeeming qualities whatsoever. These 10 totally useless websites were chosen at random and appear in no specific order… meaning Site #1 is just as useless as Site #10.

And now, for your head-scratching, time-wasting pleasure, we present:

rrrgggbbb

RRR GGG BBB – Anyone who has used Photoshop or similar photo editing software will recognize RGB, which literally stands for Red, Green, and Blue, and that is exactly what this site offers – a black background with those three letters in corresponding colors. But wait; there’s more. Hover the cursor over any of the letters and the background shifts to that color. If you ever forget what red, green, or blue look like, you’ll want to have this site stored in your bookmarks.

bluebox

A Blue Box – The name says it all. The page offers up a blue rectangular box on a white background. It doesn’t flash messages or blink or move or any of that other nonsense. It just sits there.

fallasleep

You Fell Asleep Watching a DVD – A scenario we’re all familiar with. We fall asleep while watching a movie, and later wake up to the main menu screen playing its endless musical loop. Only a small handful of titles are available at this time but we can always hope the creator of the page adds to the catalog.

passiveagressivepassword

The Passive Aggressive Password Machine – Think you’ve come up with some ironclad passwords to protect all your accounts? Let this site deflate your ego a little bit… or a lot. Just type in your password to receive feedback like “I hope this account isn’t important,” “Really poor effort,” and “Mashing your head on the keyboard would be more secure.”

beesbees

Bees Bees Bees – Happiness turns to terror when a familiar sight on the Oprah Winfrey is transformed into a scene that could fit easily into a horror movie. Oprah unveils a surprise for the studio audience and viewers’ screams of joy appear to be screams of terror.

koalastothemax

Koalas to the Max – Nope! This isn’t a site for koala lovers because the cute little animal is nowhere to be found. However, if you’re a fan of breaking a big circle into smaller circles just by passing the cursor over it, you might find yourself unable to concentrate on anything else for the rest of the day.

leduchamp

Ledu Champ – A large wheel sitting on a stool. Use your cursor to make the wheel spin, and see the wheel’s shadow spin too. Ohhhh! Ahhhh!

blueballmachine

Blue Ball Machine – An entire page filled with tiny blue balls rolling across a vast landscape of obstacle courses. Way too many to keep up with all of them but fascinating – in a memorizing kind of way – to watch.

isitxmas

Is it Christmas? – This site is direct and to the point. Click the link and get taken to a page that says ‘No.’ We’re assuming it switches to ‘Yes’ or maybe a festive ‘Merry Christmas’ on December 25th.

idiotic

Idiotic.com – Two cartoon tough guys (who are apparently twin brothers) punch each other every time you click your mouse.

Productive? Of course not. Fun? That’s questionable. If nothing else, you can amaze your friends with the knowledge that such sites exist.

—-Actually if you roll your mouse over them dots long enough to make them small enough there IS a Koala bear to be found…. the smaller circles make up a mosaic of a picture of a Koala :)

    • Haha, I’m not sure if I should feel slightly sorry for you. Nah…instead I’m going to say thanks for the info. We all love us some Koalas around here. :)

    • Well, he’s not the one who had a list of useless websites, so I don’t think he’s the one you should feel sorry about.
Great List tho, the RGB team makes great productions if you click on their website in the left bottom corner

    • True, I was joking though about feeling sorry. :)

Thanks, the list is quite interesting isn’t it?

  • You missed a small link on the top left corner of LeDu Champ (a small rose), which leads you to scores of other useless sites..

    • Oh…nice. Thanks. :)
