Now you can have tons of fun with LEGO bricks without it looking like a brightly-colored brick explosion occurred in your home… and you don’t have to worry about stepping on any of those painful buggers with bare feet.
LEGO has teamed up with Google to create Build with Chrome, a virtual environment that lets you build LEGO constructs to your heart’s content. Better yet, you can use Google Maps to place your completed masterpieces anywhere in the world.
WebGL, a 3D graphics technology, makes this terrific techno-toy possible and all you need to start having fun is a Google+ account, which you probably already have since Google has linked all their features together. If your LEGO-fu is feeling a bit rusty, you can check out the tutorials and challenges in the Build Academy, which has the added bonus of letting you be taught by characters in the upcoming “THE LEGO® MOVIE.” You can even show-off share your creations with others on Google+.
Feel weird using a mouse to play with LEGO bricks? According to the gang over on the Google Chrome blog, you can use Chrome for Android support for WebGL to get tactile by taking advantage of the touchscreen on your phone or tablet.
What are you waiting for? It’s free so get over there and unleash the LEGO beast within you.
