Five Person Exploration Submarine – state of the art undersea explorer for the price of a business jet

What is it about undersea exploration that catches the imagination? Is it the Jules Verne in us, the sense of alien and yet beautiful danger? Or just those movies about killer sharks? Whatever it is, we’re definitely standing in line to get a ride in one of these if we can one day.

The Five Person Exploration Submarine seems to offer state of the art tech and comfort for exploring the deep up to 656 feet down, which is pretty deep. Right? The acrylic living pod is 3.25 inches thick, and it’s all climate controlled to ensure the occupants are snug and cosy.

You get all the cool controls you need to play like Captain Nautilus, and you’ll steam full speed ahead at 2.5 knots under the waves and 4 knots on top. The very cool part is the fact that the twin batteries will give you up to 8 hours dive time, and you can use the VHF radio and underwater telephone system to order pizzas on the go. Or not.

Oh and by the way, you’ll need to get seriously trained up on this before running loose in your local swimming pool. Priced at an eye watering $2,700,000 all in.
