It had to happen. Someone had to come up with the genius idea that a handheld games console which was also a full bore smartphone might be a cool idea. Actually we’re sure the idea is not that new, but what makes this notable is the fact that the phone part looks half decent.
The iReadyGO Much i5 Quad Core Console Phablet (phew, try saying that with a mouth full of raisins), is a 1.2 GHz quad core phone with 1GB RAM, 4GB or ROM and up to 32GB of external storage via microSD card. The device supports Bluetooth, WiFi, and 3G and also includes GPS which is a nice touch.
There’s also an 8 megapixel camera and the touchscreen is a 5 inch with 1280×720 resolution, so it’s not too shabby in that area either. It runs Android 4.2.2 and comes with a micro HDMI out for connecting to things like TVs and a 3500 mAh battery rechargeable via microUSB. Oh and it supports OTG, so you can also hook up external accessories like keyboards, USB flash or other drives to extend your storage capability.
These are some nice specs, and the fact that it’s got the full complement of gaming controls on the front is pretty cool. The price for all this stuff is $226.99 and of course it will play all your favorite Android games out of the box.
