You like music? See if you like this. It’s a video battle between the Japanese robot band Z-Machines versus the German robot band Compressorhead. We don’t know what to say really. Other than the trite observation that if this is really the future of music, we’re all going to be in a lot of pain one day.

The Battle of The Robot Bands of course goes way beyond music. It’s about the battle of the engineers. The cool retro Germans with their love of classic rock, against the wacky experimental Japanese who are more intent on making robots do their own thing, no matter how bizarre it turns out. Personally we’re going with the head nodding German Compressorhead anytime.

But beyond all this is the very real competition to develop robots which will do stuff, all kinds of stuff, not just play music. Which makes these robot demonstrations just a little more scary, we think.
