Apparently an Apple patent filing has just surfaced from September 2012 which describes how the company would like to help people avoid bumping into things while texting. They would like to do this by turning the background of the phone into a video feed taken from the rear camera. All rather nice. Except for one small point.
We reported on a product like this back in February 2012 called Transparent Screen for Android which appears to do this exact same thing. As a working product.
Not to mention Walk And Read for Megareader, which we featured way back in January 2011. Could it be that there’s a little bit of prior art floating around already guys? Maybe the good folk in Cupertino need to start reading the Ferret a bit more?
