Smartphone Temperature Sensor – is that a thermometer in your tablet or is it just hot in here?

Need a quick read of the temperature of your surroundings? Or maybe you just want to see how hot or cold your coffee is? Carrying around a thermometer is not really practical, but it makes more sense if it happens to be attached to something you do have in your pocket anyway.

The Smartphone Temperature Sensor by Thermodo turns your smartphone into a pocket thermometer for those times when you need an instant temp reading. The uses are countless, for example, you can check to see if you’re really quite a sweaty individual or it’s actually hot in the room. Or you can make sure you infuse your Royal Green Jasmine tea leaves at exactly the right temperature for the perfect cup of nectar.

The device is the size of a capsule and it’s made of pure aluminum. It connects to the audio port of your smartphone and sends the temperature via an audio signal, which is converted by a dedicated app for both iOS and Android platforms. The Smartphone Temperature Sensor is available for $45 via Fancy.
