There’s no shortage of budget Android tablets on the market, but for the most part they’re pretty middle of the road in terms of specifications and performance. That’s why it’s always nice to see a tablet which seems to have a little more thought and care put into design, especially when it looks nice as well.

This new Ceros Vision 16 Tablet offers a nice mix of decent specifications along with modern styling and a knockout screen which makes it a worthwhile contender for anyone looking for a tablet at the right price.

First impressions
The tablet ships in a regular but nicely finished package, along with all the things you’d expect in the box, including a user manual, video out cable adapter, power block and cable and a nice looking case which doubles as a kickstand for hands-free viewing.

The tablet itself is really well built, and more importantly looks bang up to date. Gone are the old round corners, and in are the square finish reminiscent of the Sony tablets which we raved about in our review a few months back. The whole effect is of a premium product rather than a cheap clone, which is nice.

In use
The tablet itself features a nice powerful 1.6 GHz quad core processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 10.1 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1920×1200, 16 GB of internal storage and microSD card support up to 32 GB. It has HDMI out (via a micro adapter cable which is supplied) and comes with a 7000mAh battery which offers up to 5 hours gaming and video.

We were impressed by the overall feel and responsiveness of the tablet, which reflect the good amount of RAM and meaty processor, which meant that most things like web browsing and gaming were effortless, with no glitches at all. Similarly watching video, even ultra high resolution (as you can see in the video below) offers a seamless experience, which no jitters on show. Nice.

Conclusion
All in all we were pleasantly surprised by the build quality and overall styling of this tablet computer. The Chinese tablet market has definitely moved on from where it was a few years ago, and even these mid range budget tablets are now offering the kind of quality that only the large brands offered before. It’s nice to see, and we’re optimistic that this trend will continue as time passes.
