One of the things we don’t appreciate about carrying around our life in a portable device like a smartphone, is how easy it is for people to snoop into your affairs just by peering over your shoulder while you’re reading stuff. It may not be so bad on a street, but on a plane ride or in a bus, things can get a little dodgy if you’re not careful.
Now there’s a new privacy screen protector, which not only reduces the angle of view of your smartphone screen, so strangers can’t get a look at your emails and private browsing sessions, but also offers a water-resistant, shatterproof and fingerprint resistant covering for your previous handset screen. And it’s made of tempered glass, not plastic!
The thin film is available for a range of products, including both the Samsung 5 and iPhone 5 models, and is supposed to be impervious to drills, keys, knives and suchlike, as well as restricting the viewing angle to 30 to 40 degrees. The thing is applied like any conventional screen protector, and the company claims that it won’t reduce the sensitivity of your touchscreen. We’d be happy just getting rid of the finger smears which these phones seem to attract in 2 seconds of use.
The kit includes the tempered glass screen cover, a micro-fiber cleaning cloth and a dust remover, and retails for $25.
